Ownership has always been about more than money. It’s about agency.
Ownership creates choice. It gives families stability and communities leverage. When you own,
you can protect what you build and decide what gets passed on.
Black communities have long understood this, even when barriers to ownership were systemic
and violent. The pursuit of ownership wasn’t only economic. It was protective. It was visionary.
Today we honor the builders, homeowners, entrepreneurs and investors, whose work made
generational possibility more real.
